What happens if / when I sign up for the 3-month free trial?
We send you individual, uniquely worded letters via email for you to print out and
post (or fax) to the authorities in the countries concerned.
We also have a template to save you typing the names & addresses of the foreign
recipients into UK or US airmail envelopes. You can just paste the addresses
in from the clipboard. (See 'Tools & Templates.)
The letters are based on the 3 'Real Lives' Worldwide Appeals issued by Amnesty
International each month. These are subsequently published in the UK Amnesty magazine (six
in each issue as it is a bimonthly publication) and in other Amnesty
publications around the world. Letters are always sent out three
at a time, but not necessarily every month (depending on how many you order).
(On occasion, Amnesty does include e-mail addresses for the overseas governments
concerned. But this is the exception rather than the rule. The general consensus
is that actual letters or faxes are usually more effective than e-mail messages.)
If, and only if, you decide to continue receiving email letters via email after the trial period,
you can open an annual subscription for as little as £10.
In order to proceed with the Free Trial, send us an e-mail and we'll email
a sample rich text letter and a registration form back to you.
It's important to ensure that you can read the sample letter before embarking on
the free trial.
